How To Convert Wma From Windows Media Player Into Mp3 Files

. WMA (Windows Media Audio) is one such format of music that is very restrictive and usually works only with the Windows Media Player. Due to this attribute users may face issues while playing WMA files, as Windows Media Players cannot itself convert WMA files into MP3 files. Certain programs play a special role in converting WMA files into the MP3 files. Converting WMA into MP3 files can become a cakewalk if you follow the below mentioned steps:

Start the process by ripping the music after inserting the CD into it. This you can do by selecting the Rib tab in the Windows Media Player. When you rip the music, it is pulled from the CD and saved as a different file. The ripped music files will be saved as WMA files.

Now you need to install the Switch program on your system for the conversion of music file type. Apart from Switch there are other numerous programs that can be downloaded free of cost to convert music files from one type to the other.


After you successfully download the application you need to navigate to the desktop or application folder where the program is located. After you double click the program icon there, a blank window will appear before you.

Go to the Add Folder icon on the window and click it. Now you will be able to see the music files that you have ripped recently. You can locate the files by navigating My Documents/My Music, or the location where you had saved the ripped files.

The next step is to choose a format. After you navigate to the music folder, you will see the words Output Format at the bottom of the window. Click on these words and explore the drop down menu to see the various file formats. You need to select MP3 file format by clicking on it.

In the final step, you have to select all the files you want to convert into the MP3 format by highlighting them on the window. Now click the Convert button appearing on the page enabled by the Switch program. This begins the conversion of all the selected WMA files to into the MP3 format.

The steps discussed above are extremely helpful in converting the restrictive WMA file format into the MP3 that can be played easily on the Windows Media Player.
