Copying a hard drive to a bootable DVD will save you time and trouble in the event that your computer crashes. To save your hard drive's data to disc, you will need to format your hard drive as an image file, such as a Bin or a Cue or ISO file. These file types make up the entire "image" of a hard drive, meaning they contain all the data in one archived file. Creating a DVD with your hard drive's image requires software that you can buy online--including programs such as Nero Burning Rom, MagicIso, and ImgBurn--since your computer does not come with software able to copy a hard drive's image
