Christmas and New Year are now both over and the holiday rush has subsided
. You don't go back to work for another week, and the kids are still on school holidays. New presents have already lost their appeal, and you couldn't afford to go away this year. No one has any idea what to do with themselves, they're just sitting around, bored. You need to come up with something for the family to do and FAST!
- Go take a picnic out of the city. Take some outdoor activity equipment (a bat and ball, etc) and make a day of it.
- If you're lucky enough to live on the coast, go to the beach. If not, pay a visit to the nearest public swimming pools.
- Go out for lunch and to see a movie that the whole family will enjoy
- Go play putt putt if there's a course near you.
- Visit an area of the city where you've never been.
- Go visit an amusement park and enjoy some wild rides.
- Go for a hike if there are any good (and safe) hiking trails in the area.
- take a day to go spend time with other relatives that you just don't have time to visit the rest of the year
These are just a few of the many ideas out there. The important thing is to be doing them as a family and to have fun while the holidays last. All too soon, you will all be back to the daily grind of work and school.
