Whether you want to do it for just for recreation or you have hopes of teaching yourself and turning it into your own business, you will see that anyone can customize a car.
First of all, let me dispell a myth for you right off the bat. You do not need to pay a professional to customize a car for you. The reason is simple. If you have the will, naturally there is a way. Anyone that has a passion for cars, or any topic for that matter, will not mind doing a little research. I'm not going to promise you a completely pimped out ride in two hours time- but I will promise you that with a little effort, you too can learn how to customize a car and have a professional outcome. Don't worry if you have never even done so much as fill your own gas tank, you can turn your factory model car into the car of your dreams with just some added effort on your part, I promise.
The reason for this is that this is definitly a growing industry. As the interest in this industry grows, the retailers providing the parts needed for these products have no choice but to grow with it. You will find that most retailers offer lay man friendly materials to any one getting ready to customize a car. These products will come with very simple step-by-step directions that even a child could decipher. So no matter what your experience in this subject is, have no fears, you too can do this. Aside from the retailers jumping on the DIY bandwagon, there are also professionals available all of the time to help guide you through the process as you start to learn how to customize a car. More and more people now are using the internet as a medium for sharing their knowledge. This is a good thing.
I personally enjoy doing this. To be honest with you, it was my teenage son who got me interested. When we bought him his first car, he literslly suddered as I proudly prsented it to him. Why? I thought to myself, would anyone shudder at the thought of recieving a free car. Well, kids will be kids. So, as any father who wants to make their child happy (but not break the bank) would do, I figured out what his dream car looked like, then proceeded to help him get there. Together we embarked in the journey of learning how to customize a car.
Let me tell you, it was FUN! Not just the father and son time together, which seems to lessen significantly in the teens, but the actual work. by the time we were done, you would've never in a million years thought it was the same car we started with. And that was only our first endevor. Since then we have repeated the process several times with his friends cars. Each time we further develop our skills and add new and different ideas to our growing repitior.
We were able to find help on-line from some very generous pros and many people who had come before us in this suprising huge world of car customization. I had such a good time and such a good outcome that I couldn't wait to share my experience with everyone. Here are some simple steps to get you started:
1. Create a vision. You can't even get started unless you know where you are heading.
2. Start with the body. This is because people will see this work first so start there. Besides, the least expensive and easiest to do are on the body and they make a big difference.
3. Continue whatever theme you've developed on the outside and bring it inside.
4. think about how tires and rims can add to the over all image you are going for. There are many options to choose from and you don't HAVE to spend big here.
5. Don't forget to check out your engine. A little elbow grease (and a good degreaser!) can make your engine look brand new.
6. Through out the process, stick to a common theme that will pull it all together in the end.
7. HAVE FUN!
Do some research, some price comparison and you'll be able to customize a car like you've been doing for years in no time at all. Most of all, remeber to enjoy the process. Even minor setbacks can be viewed as learnign experiences if you keep the proper frame of mind through it all.
