In many cases, the occurrence of miscarriage will often be found in the first trimester

. However, it is commonly believed that if a woman passes the first trimester safely, there are very little chances of miscarriage. However, this doesn't mean that there are n chances of miscarriage in the later pregnancy. Some early symptoms of miscarriage may be included in the signs of miscarriage in second trimester.

Early and late signs of miscarriage

When there is occurrence of miscarriage during pregnancy, various symptoms include early and late are included. Some common signs include cramping and bleeding. There may be occurrence of spotting in the earlier months of pregnancy. However, during the second trimester, there is closing of the cervix and no occurrence of spotting. In the later part, there may be occurrence of cramping as the Braxton Hicks Contractions. The Uterus should have a preparation for childbirth. Hence, mild cramping may be seen. However, one should not worry about this. Other signs of miscarriage in second trimester include pain in the abdomen, lower back pain and pressure in the uterus area. Some of them are same as that of labor.

Specific signs of miscarriage in second trimester

By the second trimester, the baby gets protection from the membranes. If fluid is leaking from the vagina or there is rupture in the bag of water, it proves to be a clear sign of miscarriage. However, there may be a gush of fluid. It is similar to a trickle of urination. If there is passage of any grayish material or tissue, it should be collected immediately and taken to the hospital.

Missed heartbeat

If a heart beat is not found by the doctor in the second trimester, this may be a part of a regular visit to the doctor or as a part of emergency visit. This can be a sign of miscarriage. At times, there will be a difficulty in finding a Doppler hand held unit. Thus, heart beat cannot be found easily with it. However, the missing heart beat can be verified easily with an ultrasound.

One must recognize the symptoms of miscarriage in the second trimester. This is of great importance for pregnant women. The appearance of these symptoms is seen after the growth of fetus is stopped. There is hardly and medical intervention. This can be done for saving pregnancy. Often a medical procedure will be performed for removing the fetus.
