How To Detoxify Your Body
If you listen closely, your body has a way of speaking to you
. At first, you may feel tired, and just not like yourself. You feel more pain than usual and your skin looks dull and lifeless. Your body could be telling you that it is out of sync and needs help. These are ways that your body send signals to warn you that something is wrong.
Our bodies contain its own natural healing system, and when the warning signals are going off, it is time to start helping move the healing process along. One way to heal your body is to detoxify.
What does detoxify mean? Detoxify is simply cleansing of the blood. When you detoxify, it helps remove blood impurities and toxins that are found in the kidneys, liver, lymph nodes and the skin. There are a variety of safe ways that you can detoxify your body. Some of these include fasting, removing certain foods from your diet and removing stress through exercise.
Other ways of detoxifying your body is consuming cleanses. Some programs offer seven-day body cleanse that often involve a juice fast. The juices include special vitamins, minerals, herbs and fiber. Before consuming such a cleanse, it is important that you speak with your doctor. Those type of cleanses are not for everyone.
One simple way to detoxify your body is to increase your intake of fiber. Foods that include fiber are brown rice, cabbage, broccoli, radishes, artichoke and seaweed. Diets that are rich with fiber from fresh fruits and vegetables will help remove toxins from your body. It is best if you can buy fruits and vegetables that are organic. Fresh produce is better, because when you cook fruits and vegetables, it reduces and removes the vitamins and minerals that are essential for your body's immune system.
Another process to detoxifying your body is to remove certain foods from your daily diet. Begin by removing refined sugars, coffee, caffeine, (cigarettes and alcohol if you are a smoker or drinker) and saturated fats. These types of food can also get in the way of a healthy immune system and slow down the process of healing.
Not only should you remove certain foods from your diet, but you should also minimize or remove use of chemical based products that you use for both personal care and household cleaning. Products that you buy from retail stores such as shampoo, body washes, deodorant and toothpaste contain irritants that could harm the skin and the detoxification process. Instead, search for natural alternatives.
Another trigger of the body's natural immune system is stress. Try to avoid situations in your daily life that may cause you unwanted stress. While this seems difficult (and sometimes highly impossible), learn healthy ways to deal with daily stress.
Participate in Yoga by taking classes or learning different poses from videos, book or online. Focus on stretches that increase relaxation or allow you to meditate. As you meditate, focus on deep breathing methods. Breathe in and out deeply to allow oxygen to move more sufficiently through your body.
Simply exercising at least 30 minutes to an hour each day is ideal for treating stress too. Walk at a fast pace or jog nearby in your neighborhood, at the park or on a trail. Biking is also helpful too. Any exercise that can get your heart pumping and your body moving is ideal for your body. While exercising or meditating, focus your mind on positive situations or picture somewhere happy. Focusing on positive situations can help push out negative thoughts.
Water is also very important to help your body detoxify. If you want to detoxify, work your way up to consuming up to two quarts of water each day. Not only will it help flush unwanted toxins from your body, but it will keep you properly hydrated when you exercise too. Hydration is essential for our bodies. When you are feeling especially tired or run down, often a glass of water can perk you right up again.
Hydrotherapy is also ideal to detoxify your body. To do this, take a very hot (as hot as you can stand it without burning your skin) for about five minutes. Let the warm water run over your back. Then after five minutes, turn the water cold for thirty seconds. Complete these steps three more times, and then go lie down for thirty minutes.
Besides hydrotherapy, you can also go sit in a sauna to sweat. Waste is also removed from your body through perspiration. Not only does it eliminate waste, but it is an ideal way to relax and remove stress from your mind too.
Specific vitamins are essential for detoxification too. Increase your intake of vitamin C. You can do this by taking supplements or consuming fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamin C. Some of these include oranges, red and green chili peppers, bell peppers, guava, kale, brussel sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, papayas, strawberries and kiwi. Vitamin C produces a compound known as glutathione which is essential in removing toxins.
Following these tips and steps are essential for a successfully detoxifying your body. If you feel run down and just not quite yourself, perhaps it is time to start listening to your body. Once you begin exercising, consuming organic foods, increasing liquids and incorporating more positive activities into your daily life, you will notice an increased difference in your moods. Not only will you feel better, but your body will thank you too.
