How To Develop Rural Tourism

With the vigorous development of tourism and the transform of rural economy

, rural tourism is developing rapidly all around China. More and more people are inclined to the rural tourism. However, China"s rural tourism still stays at the preliminary stage on the whole. Therefore, we should take proper measures to develop rural tourism in our country and overcome the existing shortcomings. As for this, I have the following three suggestions.

In the first place, it is of vital importance to develop the rural tourism and tourist products of with unique characteristics and avoid the homogenization for the thriving of a place. The essence of rural tourism is the unique local sceneries, customs and cultures of each place. Because of the great pressure from work, society and life, people living in big cities desire to return to nature, enjoying idyllic surroundings and easing their tensions, thus becoming the main supporters of rural tourism. To draw their attention, we should find out and develop the most distinguishing features that can reflect its local customs and culture.

In the second place, we should attach equal importance to the conservation of the natural environment and local culture while developing the tourism industry in rural areas. The originality of the natural and human environment, especially the native landscape, is the characteristic of rural tourism, which is the primary purpose of urban citizens" travelling to rural areas. It is not sensible and permissible for the developers to take the economic profits as the main target regardless of the destruction of the natural environment and the local culture.

Last but not least, the local government should pay attention to the cultivation of the employees for the tourism industry, including the managers, administrators and service personal. The competition of the 21st century is ultimately the competition of talented people. There is no exception in the tourism industry. Under the current circumstance, it"s difficult to introduce the high-level administrators to the rural areas for the research and management of rural tourism. Hence, finding out and cultivating such people in the native region are both necessary and significant. A group of workers with disciplines, skills, management ability and honesty will provide better service for the tourists and consequently promote the development of the local enterprises and tourism industry.

In summation, we should build up a good system of rural tourism planning that could provide practical theory guides for China"s rural tourism planning and exploitation in the future. It is meaningful for China, a big agricultural country with many rural areas, to develop rural tourism in a right way for it"s a good way to solve the problem of agriculture, rural areas and farmers, to press ahead with the building of a well-off society and promote common prosperity. What"s more, it can meet the spiritual demands of the modern people in a healthy way.
