How To Display Your Prized Sport Collectibles

So, you have gotten your first sport collectible and are now ready to begin collecting more great authentic sports related treasures

. Yet what will you do with all of the items once you get them home? Will you put them in a box that ends up at the back of a closet? Deciding exactly how you plan to organize, display or store your collection is important. You need to decide which pieces of signed sports memorabilia that you will likely be keeping or the ones that you may sell or give away. Once that has been decided, you do have several different options for housing your prized collection.

After you have decided on which items you are interested in keeping, you will have to decide which of the different autographed sports collectibles you are going to store away and which ones you want to display. There are some questions that you can ask yourself if you have trouble deciding on which to store and which to display. For instance, do you like one particular item, like your autographed football, enough to put it out for display? Perhaps not every one of your items is meaningful enough that you will want to look at it every day.

You also need to make sure that the items you are considering are able to be safely displayed. An older sport collectible, or one made from fragile material may not be suitable, as exposing it to air, light, moisture or dust may be harmful. You also want to be sure that you have ample room in which to store the item, such as an autographed jersey from your favorite player, without giving the impression of being overcrowded.

As a general rule most people suggest that you pick only a few of your favorite pieces of signed memorabilia and either place them in a display case, or consider sports memorabilia framing for jerseys, and then perhaps plan to store the rest. Some collectors will even swap items out, displaying one or two pieces for awhile and then putting those away and picking new ones to display.

Most people end up having to store some of their collection and the type of storage that is chosen is very important for preserving your sport collectible in the best possible condition. A sealed, climate controlled environment is usually the best solution for storing valuable authentic memorabilia in order to avoid any type of needless deterioration or damage. This will help to ensure that your prized sports possessions will hold their value for years to come.
