For this card trick, all you need is one standard deck of cards, a pad of paper, pencil, and an audience. With this trick, you will have to remove all the tens, jacks, queens, and kings from the deck. You will also have to be able to do math in your head. The trick will make it appear that you can read a person's mind and figure out the two cards that a person has chosen.

The first thing you have to do is to have someone shuffle the cards, take them, and hold them in your hand spread out in a fan shape. Ask a member of your audience to choose a card from among them, to remember it, and to put it back in the deck. Ask him to double the value of the card he picked, add 5, and multiply the result by 5. Instruct him to remember this number. Then, let him pick another card in the deck, and add its value to the total computation. This end result should be relayed to you.

In your head, subtract 25 from the total. The two digits you get are the same as the two cards that were chosen. For example, 2 and 3 were chosen. 2 times 2 equals 4, plus 5 equals 9, times 5 equals 45, plus 3 equals 48. Then 48 minus 25 equals 23. Thus, the numbers are 2 and 3.
