. What may be a problem is the fact that no one has a tent. This means choosing one that will cover almost everything needed. Tents need to sleep a certain amount of people, handle the extra items they bring along and handle weather issues.

Most tents will be for three seasons or four. Three season tents are flexible for most campers. Winter is not handled as well with a three season tent. So if used during a cold weather trip, campers will need to prepare to be uncomfortable. So if camping in the harsh winter weather is occurring, four season tents will fit the situation. Otherwise campers may find themselves with no protection against freezing.

Most families are not going backpacking. This means the tent will generally be stored in the family vehicle. Because they will not be stored in a backpack, the weight is not much of a factor.

Most tents will either be cabin or dome style. When it comes to family camping, a dome style tent will often be the best. They have a larger area in which to hold more campers. Also important is a floor. Most should come equipped with a floor so that fewer adjustments are needed. Fewer parts mean worrying about fewer things.

If the weather permits and campers do not mind going with a less expensive model, this is fine. However, it is best to go with a heavier weight fabric. The poles which are used to shore up a tent are important as well. When buying ask about the guarantee. Aluminum poles are sturdier.

The room within a chosen family tent is essential because more often than not, it will not just be how many people, but whether their baggage fits. The tent should have enough room so that sleepers will also be able to sit up straight without touching the walls or the ceiling.
