At the very least a license from the state tells us that a roofer has been finger printed, he's had his background checked and he's taken an aptitude test.

From checking for a license you can transition to looking for existing feedback and reviews online. We use Google and simply enter the roofers name right into the search box and see what comes up. You can also look for reviews and feedback on sites like citysearch.com, insiderpages.com and yelp.com. You may also want to check for complaints with your state's license board, the Better Business Bureau and online at ripoffreport.com.

The internet has really become a wealth of information particularly for reviews and feedback on a variety of service providers today. You're sure to find plenty of feedback for roofers in your area online so make sure to take advantage of that resource.
