How To Fix A Slow Pc & Speed Up Computer Performance

In this article I will show you how to fix a slow PC and so then fix some performance

problems you encountered when you're having problems on your computer's performance. Go to your computer and the first thing you will do is turn off the programs which runs in the background when you log on to your PC. What you're going to do is click on start button and click run and type msconfig. Once the "System Configuration Utility" comes up go to the startup tab. As you can see there's a lot of program items on it, these are the listings of all the programs that launch and run when your computer starts up and you log in and these what makes your PC load slowly.

You see things such as your anti virus which you do not want to disable. If you have some programs that might come from your manufacturer and you never used them, they have a checked box next to them, if their going to run. If you don't want those programs to run just simply unchecked them and they won't run when you log in. As you can see whether or not you have the majority of these programs disabled on your computer. Now after you unchecked the boxes of those programs that you do not want to use, you're going to click apply and click OK in order for the new configuration to take effect immediately. Next it will prompt you to restart your computer when you are in windows xp platform. Click restart and then observe the results of your computer's performance.

Now here's another tip that I'm going to show you on how to improve the performance of your PC. I will show you how to defragment your hard drive in order for your PC to run faster. Click start button. and then click on computer, now right click on you c drive and then go to properties and go to tools click on defragment now. Next you see analyze and defragment buttons, first click the analyze button to let your computer analyze the situation of your hardisk whether it needs to be defragment or not. After the result it will tell you what to do, just follow the instructions. If you do not want to click analyze and just want to directly defragment your hard drive just click the defragment button.

If you're in windows vista platform, you are asked, that windows needs your permission to continue, just hit the continue button to proceed the operation. What this does? is that it goes to all of the files on your hard drive and put all of those files in order so that the operating system can more quickly access them. If you are on windows vista platform, you can also set it in windows vista to run on a schedule. Which in my part, I scheduled every Wednesday. I suggest you to set on that schedule also and do some manual defragmentations every now and then. You can apply these steps right away and compare the results to the previous state of your computer's performance.These are some tips on how to fix performance issues and speed up your computer.
