2.Once the area has been sanded down, apply the wood filler according to the directions on the filler of your choice. It is important to follow the manufacturer's directions to avoid any mishaps. Wood filler should be applied slowly and meticulously to avoid spreading it outside of your work area.

3.Let the wood filler dry completely. Once it has dried, sand it down again to create a smooth working surface to paint over. The process of applying the filler may take several applications, depending on how significant the damage is to your wall.

4.Once the application has been successful and you are happy with the results, you can paint over the wood filler agent.

This process may not work on large areas. For larger areas of damage, you are likely better off using the process of applying new sheetrock to the affected area. Using wood filler is meant for small areas that can be fixed inconspicuously.
