So you have fallen to the irritating PS3 red light
. Now, what can you do to fix the PS3 flashing red light, quickly? Well firstly I would try turning it off and on again. Sadly, if that doesn't work, you can try the things below.
There are a few things other things that can cause this problem:
1)Overheating - If you are playing your PS3 and suddenly it cuts off and has a flashing Red light then it has probably overheated. To solve this leave it in a well ventilated area for about 20 minutes then. Try it again.
Tip: You should always play your PS3 in a well ventilated area on a smooth, hard surface so that its cooling system works effectively. Never play it on a carpet cause that can trap heat and block the PS3's vents!
2)HDD problem- The Flashing red light may be caused by a problem with the hard disk. Try removing the hard disk (the instructions are in the user's manual) and putting it back in.
3)Some other and more seriously hardware problem- If this is the case your PS3 will need repairs. In order to do this you can do 2 things: send it to Sony, or Fix your PS3 yourself.
If you send your PS3 to Sony then you will be charged around $150 (Unless it is still under warranty). Also you will have to wait 4-6 weeks to get your PS3 back...or they may give you a refurbished unit instead. If your PS3 is still under warranty I recommend this option because if you open the case of the PS3 then you will void your warranty.
