The first thing you need to evaluate is the current location of their home. How soon does it take you to go to and from their address? Is it fairly easy to get to and would you consider it rural or urban? At this point in their lives, you can't afford to have them live within a secluded area where other houses are miles away from them.

Once you get into their home, take a look around. Inspect the home for any signs of repair need. Check if there are lose wires in sight that should be fixed as well. Also, consider if the water still flows just right.

Aside from the home where they live, you should also look at the current state of health of your parents. Make it a point to bring them to the doctor regularly especially if they have a chronic medical condition that needs attention. You should schedule them for checkups monthly or quarterly.

Since your folks are really bent staying inside a home, there are a few adjustments to be made. You should make their home more friendlier for someone under their age and you should also consider moving them into a home that's closer where you live at present so you can look over them as frequently as needed.

They might not be moving in a care facility, but they should definitely have a professional caregiver looking after them. Depending on their current medical condition, you can choose to hire a nurse, a caregiving aide, or a home caretaker to help look after their needs.

If you want things to be orderly, it would be best to create the caregiver's plan yourself. This way you can be sure that all important tasks are covered especially the schedules for the medications of your folks. This way your caregiver would have a plan to follow daily.

Looking for a live-in care agency is easy but you need to make sure you are getting the best for your folks. To do this, consider getting suggestions from your friends and the doctor of your parents too.
