How To Get On Camera At A Sporting Event

Every fan that attends live sporting events has a little part of them that wishes to make it on television during the broadcast of the game

. Even the shyest and most reserved of fans may find themselves acting a little bit zany when the camera person comes by. But with droves of like-minded sports fanatics out there doing anything and everything to get on the tube, how would the average Joe or Jane compete? This article will give you a few tips to keep in mind at sporting events!

First of all, do not, under any circumstances, annoy the camera person. Taping the fans, the concourses and the other "fluff" features of a game is often a tiring and thankless job. The camera person wants to have their work reflect fun and excitement, not have it feature over the top and ridiculously madcap fans acting out of control. If you see a camera person approaching, it's important to act as natural as possible. It's okay to look at the camera and cheer and dance, but don't race up and start acting like an animal. The unnecessary footage will be cut, and you will look silly in front of everyone else!

Secondly, try to wear something distinctive to the game that will attract the camera person's eye and make for good television. At a Philadelphia Phillies game this summer, a group of 20 somethings all wore Hawaiian leis and made giant signs spelling out "Go Victorino" to honor the team's All Star center fielder who hails from Hawaii. The fans got on television because they were funny and exciting, all while being classy.

Finally, a good way to get on television is to do something extraordinary. Propose to your girlfriend, or streak in center field. Just kidding about the last one!
