At some stage almost everybody will get a blackhead, its not down to bad facial hygiene but the fact that our body goes through changes which makes us more likely to get them. Blackheads are caused by blocked pores. This can happen for a number of reasons; most likely due to skin that is more oily than normal. One tip I can offer is to always wash your skin well every night and morning with a good facial cleanse. This will keep the pores clean and less likely to cause a blackhead. Remember, prevention is always the best cure.

Many girls love to slap makeup on their face, if you are one of these people then you are highly susceptible to blackheads as you are making your face much oilier. Try to cut down on the amount you use or always use good make up wipes to ensure that you keep it clean.

A good diet will also help prevent blackheads. Eat more fruit and vegetables and cut down on fatty foods.

Of course, those tips will only help prevent them. They wont do much good if you already have them on your face, and that is what this next part is about.

One popular method amongst people is toothpaste, although this method does not always work and could cause skin irritation. The idea is to rub toothpaste on the affected area for a number of days, hopefully this will lead to the blackhead disappearing. As I said however, this will cause skin irritation and if that occurs then you should stop the treatment.

Many people have also used non-toxic glue on the face to great effect. What you need to do is apply glue to your affected areas and wait for it to dry. Hopefully when you peel the glue off the blackhead will come with it. Make sure that you only use non-toxic glue however, you could end up doing serious damage to your skin otherwise. Rubbing honey or lime juice on the face will also help clear up your blackheads.

If you really must do you can pop the blackheads, although I tend to avoid this as much as possible as it can leave terrible scars on your face if done incorrectly, which of course will end up looking worse than the blackhead!

There are plenty of medicated solutions out there that are designed to clear blackheads. I suggest that you take a look at a few reviews to see which ones will help you the most. During teenage years I always suggest that you have a good cleansing solution for your face to help combat against acne and blackheads.

There are many more solutions than this for getting rid of blackheads, some more effective than others. The ones I have mentioned seem to have the most effect on them, if you really find that you are getting a lot of blackheads however then you may want to head to a dermatologist who can offer you are long term solution.
