How To Get Rid Of Luggage Stains

Dealing with luggage stains is quite common. When you are traveling, your bag can acquire different kinds of stains. As soon as you get the chance, you should get rid of the stains.

The problem with treating luggage stains is that most people overdo using them. They end up using too much of the stain remover. Because of that, the color of the luggage fades off. I am sure you would not want that to happen. You should use only the right stain cleaners.

1. Get rid of dirt stains

A mild laundry detergent will work in removing dirt stains. If you are using a canvas bag, you can use the laundry detergent. Just throw your bag inside the washer drum and use about a tablespoon of the detergent powder. After removing dirt stains, let your canvas bag dry completely.

For leather luggage, you should use a damp towel to get rid of the dirt. Just wipe the area clean. If the dirt left a deep stain on the luggage, purchase a leather polisher. The polisher will get rid of the splotches on your leather luggage.

2. Get rid of food stains

Common food stains can also be treated using mild detergent. If you want a milder cleaner, you can try using your dishwashing liquid. Mix it with water. Place it in a spray bottle and spray the solution on the areas affected. Let it soak in the cleaning solution for a few minutes. Get a small brush and gently scrub the area clean. You may need to spray it once again with the solution if the areas have turned dry before you completely got rid of the stains.

3. Get rid of yellow stains

If your luggage bag got soaked in rain water, you will surely deal with yellow stains after some time. Get rid of the discoloration with the help of vinegar and baking soda. Mix one cup of distilled white vinegar, one cup of dissolved baking soda and one cup of water. Place the solution in a spray bottle. Spray it on the areas affected.

Let the cleaning solution work in removing the yellow stains overnight. The next day, your luggage should look as good as new. You can resume the cleaning cycle in your washing machine.
