It is likely, that the two of you separated in bitterness. Take some time to consider your actions and decide the best way to approach your ex, so the two of you can calmly sort out any mis-communications. Come to this meeting relaxed and unprepared to attack your ex. This is a time for a quiet, calm talk about what has happened and what can be done to repair the damage.

APOLOGIZE

It certainly takes two to tango. And while it is true your ex made some mistakes; come to terms with the fact that you also, share some of the blame. Be sincere in your apology. Be specific about what you did wrong. Then ask what you can do to repair the damage. It may be tempting, but try to avoid taking full responsibility for everything that went wrong in the relationship. You were not alone, your partner will have to come to terms with his or her mistakes. Avoid blame. Your ex may not be prepared to take responsibility, this is not the time to point out his or her flaws. Take responsibility for your actions and leave it at that!

Welcome your ex back into your life. However, if he or she is not ready, do not press the issue. You have done all you can do to talk with your ex and communicate your feelings. Now it is up to your ex to decide his or her next step. While this is a difficult stage in your life, remember you are valuable as a person. You deserve to do what is best for you, the same as your ex should have the freedom to do what is best for him or her.
