How To Get Your Website On Google
Does your website have a low google page rank
? If it does, read on! I am going to reveal to you the system that I use to keep my websites on the first page of google and bring in tons of traffic to my site. No - this isn't some "secret" or "magic" way to get a high page rank, and it will take lots of hard work and effort on your part to achieve best results. However, these 3 steps work for me every time, for all of my websites.
1st Simple Step: Provide Genuine Content
The only way to get a bunch of traffic going to your site each day is if your site is something that people want to read. Its got to be unique, interesting, funny, informative, or offer something that no other website can offer. You can't expect to drive loads and loads of traffic to a dull website! If you keep your website interesting, you will naturally receive traffic because people will want to visit your site, and most importantly they will want to link to your site!
Second Step: Do Your Keyword Research
Ok, so you've picked a subject and you're ready to share all your unique information with the rest of the world. The next most important thing is keyword optimization. Do your research - choose keywords that are highly relevant to the content of your site, have high monthly search ratings, and relatively low competition. The longer the keyword the better, because it will be easier to rank #1 on google!
If you don't already use a keyword tool, make sure to go to Google's Free Keyword Tool now to start researching specific keyword phrases.
I always try to find a long-tail keyword with more than 500 searches/month, and less than 5,000 competing pages (when you search the phrase in quotes in google). However, some people look for a keyword with more than 5,000 searches/month, and less than 50,000 competing pages. Either way will work.
Once you have chosen a quality, low-competition key phrase, its time to optimize your webpage for the keyword. This is easiest done by writing a short article with the keyword as the title. Repeat the keyword phrase about 3-4 more times through the article, and you will have it highly optimized for google!
If you choose to skip keyword research, you will end up very disappointed. The only way to get your website discovered is to find those low-competition keywords that will get you to the top of google.
Step 3: Obtaining Relevant Backlinks
You might have run into the problem before that even with using low-competition keywords, you are still not ranking in Google. This can be very discouraging, but there is an easy way around it! See, google gives priority to websites that have the most incoming links pointing to them - in googles eyes this is like popularity, if other people like your website and link to it, then google will rank you higher. These are called backlinks, and they are the most important aspect of how to get your website on google.
So how do you get backlinks? Commenting on forums and blogs leaving your link, answering question at Yahoo Answers, creating pages at Squidoo, Hubpages, etc, to give yourself incoming links all are great ways to quickly acquire relative backlinks. Article marketing is one of the very best ways to get an unlimited number of backlinks, which means you will be writing, writing, and more writing.
