Finding work these days isnt the simplest thing to achieve

, with so many jobless people in society, the chances of getting that all elusive job is slimmed down by a big percentage.

The main problem is that there are too few job positions and a lot of job hungry job seekers that are waiting to apply for any job that becomes available. The employers hold all the aces and have the pick of the bunch.

So is there anything one can do to improve his or hers chance of employment, the answer is I dont really know, what is the key? Qualifications, experience, or is it just a simple case of how good you sell yourself in the interview process. There are some who are naturally good when it comes to the interview and seem to have a knack when it comes to selling themselves, but thats not the case for all of is it.

You can have the better qualifications and a lot of experience but if you mess up the interview, chances are that the less qualified and less experienced applicant will steal the show from you. Personally I think that all job interviews should be broken down into sections so that everyone stands a chance, not all of us are good at interviews.

There are many course available for interview techniques, some are free and some you will have to pay for yourself, but this could be the best investment that you have made in a long time. You really have to sell yourself and sell hard as well if you really want the job there are so many out there today unemployed and looking for a job, so anything that you can do to get the edge on your competition is an absolute essential, if it means going on a course to improve your interview skills then go out and do it, especially if you are highly qualified and very experienced in the field of of work that you do.

Another great tip is to show up to the interview looking smart, first impressions last as they say. If you turn up looking like a scare crow in jeans you may as well kiss your chances good bye. Its all about presentation if you are lacks in you personal appearance it looks like you cant be bothered making an effort, so this will reflect on the way you carry out your job. Well thats the way the employer will see it any way, I know that this is not always the case but at the end of the day it the prospective employer that you are trying to win over and that should be your main goal. So do yourself a favour and get yourself looking the part before you show up for the interview.

There are many books, guides and free advice available from many different sources, so my best advice is to start doing a bit of research on improving your chances of finding work. The internet has thousands of sites that will give you the information for free so get looking.
