How To Increase Your MLM Recruiting

The first problem network marketers face, is having enough leads for their business. If the number of leads isn't the problem, then the problem lies in the conversion rates in your MLM recruiting. Growing your team has more to do with your ability to lead, and ability to connect with people than it does with the sheer numbers. Keeping this in mind, your training should be focused on developing your abilities in these areas. Here are four basic changes you can make today, to increase the number of prospects you convert to full blown business partners with your MLM recruiting.

1. Stop leading with your sales pitch. I will never forget my experience with MLM recruiting, when I was searching for a business. Since I was serious and answered several ads, I was overwhelmed with calls, my inbox was full, and packages were arriving constantly. My home had turned into an incoming call center. Of all the calls I received, there is only one that I gave my time and attention to, and it just so happens, we are still working together today. So what made her approach different? Because she didn't jump me like your average MLM recruiting call, with information on her awesome business opportunity, she didn't hound me. She took the time to introduce herself, let me know she was getting back to my email, and asked me if I had a few minutes to talk. Finally a person who respects the thought that I might actually be in the middle of something when the phone rang, which I was. So we set a time for her to call me the very next day. Again, she didn't spend time bombarding me with her wonderful company and products, and how much money I could make. She was interested in learning about me. She interviewed me. Here is an outline of the interview process. General rule of thumb is to give first before asking. It's always good to prepare your candidate for what is coming, so tell them you'll be sharing a brief overview about your opportunity, followed up with more details in your website etc. Then you want to spend some time finding out about them, to see if a good fit might exist. In the ask portion of the interview, take your time learning about their job, special skills, their family, what they like to do when they're not working, and their primary reason for wanting a home business. Determining a person's real reason will require you to probe this question in multiple ways, to get to the heart of the matter. The superficial response given by just about everybody is time and financial freedom. You can't stop there, you need to dig deep to find out why the time and money are important to them, what it really gives them the chance to do. I teach the three levels of knowing your "why". Level one is the superficial wants. Level two is how more money and time will help them, and Level three is their real motivators, the dream level. Never overlook the three simple words, tell me more. Always, reciprocate back to them, in your own words, what their goal is and make sure you absolutely understand; this sends the message that you are paying attention and care.

2. Set aside your personal agenda. If you focus on your personal goals with MLM recruiting, and the numbers you need to meet in your business, and what you will gain if this person joins you, most people will not follow you. It is not a verbal cue I am talking about. I am talking about the non-verbal communication which is about 93% of your conversation, it won't take long for people to see your primary goal is about you, and the door will be closed. Take the focus completely off of your goals, and put your focus completely on the person you are speaking with. Trust can only be built when people feel you have their best interest in mind. Be genuinely eager to learn about their needs and desires. When you can master techniques in listening, and being sincerely interested in the other person, they will walk away from that conversation feeling understood, and like it was the best conversation they have had in years. That is when you will gain respect and be viewed as a leader. The number one desire of any person is to have a feeling of importance. Make sure you save their contact record, since making a good impression also includes being able to recall details like family members names etc.

3. Under promise, and over deliver. It is important to always be honest, and be realistic. If a person states they want to make six figures in the next 3 months with MLM, and you know it is highly unlikely, don't fuel their unrealistic goals. Thoughtfully explain to them, what the average MLM recruiting results are for leaders in your company. Then follow up with a question such as - if you started your business and 90 days from now you were generating an extra $2k per month, is that an income range you could work with, especially considering this is your start up phase? More people will appreciate you being honest, and lowering their initial expectations, than if you agreed with their goal, and 90 days down the road, they are completely disgusted because they haven't even made $3k. The simple lesson here, don't inflate numbers, don't suggest pie in the sky results, if the majority of people are not reaching them. Don't get me wrong, we all have dreams and I believe nothing is impossible with MLM recruiting, however, we can't base our expectations on levels of success that very few attain. Follow this same guideline when making references about your products or services, remember under promise and over deliver.

4. Be real and be yourself. Nobody likes a fake, and trust me, fake always come through crystal clear. One day, I was giving feedback to a team member regarding his MLM recruiting voice mail messages. By nature, he gets along great with just about anybody, and is very calm and cool, however, with a script in front of him, he reminded me of a school girl loaded up on energy drinks. Now, if you have the energy of a cheerleader, there is nothing wrong with that, if it is natural to your personality. If you don't, you come across like you are a walking infomercial with MLM, and you won't get a call back. Whether online or offline, just stay true to your personality.

If you will begin today by implementing just these 4 things, you should increase your conversion rates with your MLM recruiting. This isn't of course a complete training course, it takes more time to further develop these skills in depth, but this should get you started. If you truly want to multiply your results, it would be wise to plug into a solid marketing system to ensure you never run out of leads, so you can continue to increase your conversions with your MLM recruiting efforts.
