How To Keep Your Clothing Closet Clutter Free

Not all of us are lucky enough to have a walk in closet to store all of our things

and the space we do have can get cluttered very easily and very quickly. It does also seem to be true that the more space you have, the more space you need. Sometimes it does not matter how big your closet is, there is never enough room for everything. Nothing is more annoying than having to get into your closet everyday and never be bale to find what you are looking for.

The key to a clutter free closet is to get it organized and keep it that way. Sounds simple enough, but it takes a little work in the beginning and it takes a steady endeavor to keep it that way. There are several ways to go about closet organization, but it can depend on how much room you have. If you have a small closet space with slide open doors of some kind, then you will really be limited as to what you can do. One of the easiest solution for the over crowding is to remove certain clothes from season to season. In other words, in the summer pack up your winter things in storage containers or leave them on hangers and place them in storage in the garage or other safe place.

Use closet shelving in the space you have. Some like it above their heads over the clothes bar and others like it below. Sometimes you can split the closet in half and have a high bar and a low bar and then use the other half of the closet for shelves from top to bottom. If you are lucky enough to have a walk in closet, you can put in your shelves and clothing bars where ever you like. Even then, if your space is not that great, changing clothes in and out by season can still make things easier to find and less cluttered.

One of the biggest mistakes we make with clothing closets is in using them to store other things besides our clothes. We might use up valuable lingerie, t-shirt,coat,dress,suit and shoe space for things like blankets, keepsakes, or sporting equipment. You really need to find another place for these types of things. Another helpful thing is to clean out your closet at least once a year and donate or discard things you never wear or can not wear. This is the biggest reason for closet clutter and it is so easy to solve.
