How To Keep Your Egypt Property Cool In The Heat
Egypt is mostly a desert, and the weather can be extremely hot and dry here
. In places such as Cairo, the temperature can soar up to 40 degrees, which can be very exhausting if you do not keep yourself cool. Most people visit Egypt in the off season when the temperatures are more reasonable, however if you want to be able to stay in your holiday home all year round you will need to learn to be comfortable in the hotter part of the year.
In ancient Egypt, many people used to sleep on the roof of their properties in Egypt to keep cool, but you will not need to do this at your Egypt property. Simply remember a few simple "beat the heat" tips and you will be able to keep your home at a comfortable temperature.
Here are a few tips to help you cool down at your Egypt property:
Open your doors and windows in the evening and night time, when the weather is cooler. This allows a breeze to flow through the house and cool everything down. When the sun rises in the morning, shut the windows and curtains and keep them closed throughout the day. This will keep the heat from the sun from pouring in and making your house into a sauna.
Invest in a good quality ceiling fan which you can place in the corner of your bedroom to circulate the airflow. This makes it much more comfortable for sleeping. Try to find a fan which runs quietly so that it will not disturb your rest.
Most properties in Egypt will have air conditioning, so take advantage of this to keep your home at a comfortable temperature. If your air conditioning is old or not working properly, have it fixed or updated so that it is performing well.
Avoid using the stove. Cooking with the oven on a hot day is a bad idea, as it will fill your kitchen with heat and make it very uncomfortable. In the heat of the summer it is better to eat fresh food such as salads which do not need to be cooked.
Drink plenty of liquids. It is very important for your health to keep hydrated in the heat, so that you avoid getting heatstroke and dehydration. Keeping ice in the fridge at all times and sipping ice water or juice throughout the day will help you cool down and replenish your fluids.
Hit the pool. If your property in Egypt has a pool, you are in luck. This is one of the best ways to cool your body down on a hot day and it is also lots of fun. Go for a swim or just simply soak in the cool water.
Once you learn to beat the heat and get used to the extreme temperatures of Egypt, you will be much more comfortable in your Egypt property.
