How To Maintain A Golf Cart: Breif Report

Golf carts are now considered as a source of transport

. The conventional caddy was used to transport golf players inside the gold course and to carry their equipments. But not the level of usage has totally changed. It is now being used in shopping malls, resorts, retirement communities and even by individuals. The main advantage of these vehicles is its convenience of usage and ease of driving. Some own Golf carts as they consider it as a symbol of style and status.

There is Electric as well as Gasoline models. Electric ones run on battery. So the most important part of these vehicles is its battery. Proper maintenance and care has to be given to the battery in order to keep it in good health and to maximize its life. Here are some tips which would be helpful to you in maintaining the Cart in good condition.

Requirements:

Protective Gloves


Safety goggles

Distilled water

Petroleum jelly

Baking soda

Water

Clean, dry piece of cloth

Instructions

First of all, make sure you wear the protective gloves and goggles before conducting the maintenance. Avoid wearing any jewelry as they can corrode due to acidic nature of battery acid.

Check the battery terminals and the water level inside the battery cells. If the water level inside the battery cells is too low, then fill it with distilled water. Always maintain the water level to the recommended level.

Inspect the physical condition of the battery. Check for any cracks or breaks on the battery casing. Make sure the battery caps are securely sealed.

Clean off any dirt accumulated on the battery casing and surface. A solution made form baking soda and water can be used for cleaning away the dirt. Rinse properly with water and wipe dry with a clean cloth. Avoid using any other cleaning solution as they will be reactive with the battery acid. The terminals of the battery can be coated with a thin layer of petroleum jelly. This will prevent corrosion.

Always maintain contact tire pressure inside the Golf Cart tires. The required level of pressure will be prescribed in the instructions manual. Replace tires once they are worn out. Periodic servicing of your Golf Cart can help them stay in good condition. This service is offered at the company service centre itself.
