Here are a few things to think about when going after this goal.
What does it really take to make this kind of money. I know for a fact that $100 a day for many people would be life changing.
If you can get 200 hits of day of highly targeted visitors to your landing pages you should be making at least $100 a day with an affiliate offer paying $25 per commission..
If your not getting at least a 2% conversion either your traffic isn't relevant or you selected a niche where there are not to many spenders or people don't have a strong urgency to buy or the merchants sales pages is terrible or your landing page is irrelevant.
If your traffic is on point and your landing page has relevant content you should not be converting less than 2% no matter how bad your landing pages looks.
I feel strongly about this and my stats back it up.
Article marketing is probably the best way for newbies to gain traffic if they don't have budgets for ppc or other forms of paid advertisement, but what most people get wrong is they don't have any budget at all for article marketing.
I'd like to think article marketing as a less expensive way to market. In order to get enough content out there to get to at least 200 hits a day. You will have to have 100's of articles or at least a few articles that bring in a lot of traffic.
You will also have to keep putting out more articles to maintain your traffic. This is probably 2 much work for someone to do on the short term. Outsourcing your articles is the answer.
You should have at least $100 a month put to article creation and reinvest your profits on more articles.
The next set is finding which articles are making you money. For that you will have to have tracking place.
Once you find out the articles bringing you traffic an sales. You will want to build backlinks to these articles on a regular bases to keep these profit makers making you money.
There are other things you can do down the line to increase conversions but overcoming your traffic issues should be your first priority.
$100 a day with affiliate marketing isn't that hard but it does take hard work. When you don't have the time necessary, use money to make up this time.
