How To Make A Beer Pong Table

Beer pong is an increasingly popular game, especially amongst young adults and college students

, which serves as a means of intoxicated enjoyment as the main theme of the party. The beer pong table is the most essential item of the game. It serves as the surface area for the other, smaller components comprised of cups of beer and ping-pong balls.

You can easily purchase a commercial beer pong table that requires no setup or hardware components. However, the most avid players insist on constructing their own as it provides a more creative atmosphere during game play. A party, after all, is much more fun on your terms!

You will first need to compile the tools and supplies to start putting your own beer pong table together. You will need a table (you can use an existing piece of furniture or buy a cheap foldable one for use only in this game), waterproof sealer, plywood, paint, 2x4 inch boards (3 in total) and a hammer and nails (try to get some in varying sizes to ensure compatibility with the table and other tools).

A regular beer pong table will be about seven and a half feet in length with a two-inch width and a thirty-inch height dimension. Generally, an eight by four foot table in used and these instructions will follow that grid. Remember, there are no specific rule sets for this game or specific measurements it must follow. Instead, the purpose is to supply hours of fun and social interaction.

First, setup your table in the middle of a large room so there's enough space for the spectators and players. You'll need a sheet of the plywood to be the equivalent size or larger than the face of the table. Make marks on the plywood for the points of measurement so you can cut down the plywood to easily fit over your tabletop. It is best to ensure a smooth surface so some basic sanding will be in order.

In some cases, if the table is shorter than what is needed, try and raise the table by using wood planks or blocks until you reach the desired height (depending on the rules this should be about 27.5 to 45 inches). The demarcation lines need to be drawn onto the board. There are a total of three lines that govern the table: a dividing mid line and two foul lines that are a foot from the end of each side of the table.

Once these lines are drawn (you can try using paint or oil), you can start decorating it to match the motif of your party - whether that be football or sorority pride - it is bound to be a hit. When you are done decorating you will finally need to waterproof the wood so no beer will corrode the table over time. When the sealer is dried, place the boards evenl across the table and it's ready to go!

Remember, be responsible when drinking to ensure a safe but enjoyable experience!
