To many people woodworking seems to be a pretty complicated thing. I can`t tell you that building furniture all by yourself is a simple thing to do, but knowing some facts can make things much easier.

Some might say that building a picnic table is like mission impossible. When you ask the others how to make a picnic table they would answer you - peace of cake. It`s all in perception.

So, how to make a picnic table?

First of all you must prepare all the tools and material for the table, such as lumber in dimensions you think would be needed for your future table, basic circular saw and basic carpentry hand tools.

What you surely must have in mind is where you plan to use your picnic table? Only at home, probably in the garden, or in different destinations? Must your future picnic table be in dimensions to get in the pick up track or is it going to always be in your garden? You must know the answers to all this questions so you would know how to make a picnic table.

I tried a few times before I realized that I never prepared myself properly for that assignment. A nail here and there that seemed unimportant to me, but in the final work my tables were almost a disaster. Actually, I didn`t know how to make a picnic table.

Until I found really great plans for almost any kind of furniture. I was amazed with the quality of the instructions, easy to follow, filled with the details.

Not that I learned how to make a picnic table, but I learned to build a hexagonal table, I learned how to make a wooden toys and so many other great stuff. It was great to see such a detailed furniture plans in one place.
