How To Make Doing Laundry An Easier Task
Laundry is usually one of the last things most people want to do
. Some people dread doing laundry and find it to be a very time consuming task; it does not always have to be though. Laundering does not necessarily have to be such a grueling process. By utilizing a few tips one can get the job done faster and make this chore become a little easier.
Unless you just have to, you shouldn't wait so long for all your laundry to pile up. That's when it takes all day to wash, and depending on the machines you wash with it may require more soap and money. The longer you wait to wash your clothes, the more clothing accumulates and the smellier the area can become. You also risk the chance of running out of things to wear certain places, not to mention the extra time it takes.
One way to make doing the laundry is easier is by buying a laundry sorter. As you take your clothes off throughout the week, sort them to save time sorting on laundry day. The kids can be taught how to sort their own laundry as well. Laundry sorters usually run anywhere from $20 - $50. They help to simplify and organize the laundry process. A triple laundry sorter is definitely helpful. Even the large laundry rooms are likely to become messy or disorganized if the proper tools and or systems are not in place. It is even more necessary to prioritize your storage needs and decide what can be accomplished when you have a smaller sized laundry room.
You might also store old pillowcases in the laundry room for washing your delicates. Place the delicate items in the pillowcase and tie a knot in the top before throwing it in the washing machine. Instead of tossing them into the dryer, hang dry delicate items up. As far as fleece, flannel, chenille and terry cloth items launder and dry those separately from other items in order to reduce lint and residue.
There are a few more things you can do to make the laundry process easier. Wash and dry 100 percent cottons together. Be sure to dry 100 percent cotton on a high temperature setting to reduce dry time. To reduce wrinkles and the need for ironing, fold or hang your laundry as soon as it has been removed from the dryer. Some clothes can be hung to dry instead of placed in the drying machine allowing for more space and less time using the dryer. This can also prevent certain articles of clothing from shrinking. Last but not least use fabric softener or dryer sheets in order to minimize static cling and make folding quicker and easier. Bounce is one of the leading brands of dryer sheets. It leaves a great smell in your clothes too, which makes doing the laundry just a little more enjoyable.
