How To Make Heated Dog Beds

, but a part of the family. As such, you are going to want to make sure that they are just as comfortable as other members of the family at all times. In order to do this, you may want to consider making heated dog beds for any canines that you have. When doing this, simply follow these basic steps.

The first step that you have to take is to go out and purchase a regular dog bed for your animal. You can get any date you want, but preferably it should be either a basket bed with a cushion, or a simple cushion itself.

It is important that you place the bed in the right position and so you should make sure that it is away from any drafts coming from windows or doors and that it is also close to a power socket as well. Once you have positioned your bed you can place the heating pad that you should also have purchased either beneath the cushion or inside if it can be unzipped.

It is important that you find the right temperature for the dog bed so that your animal can sit comfortably without getting too hot or staying too cold. As such, consider how high the setting should be on the heating pad depending upon the thickness of the specific cushion you are using and whether you are using a heating pad within the cushion or underneath it.

It is important, however, that you do test the cushion for its temperature. To do this simply put the heating pad on a high temperature and then touch your palm to the cushion. Try to find the ideal temperature so that your animal can sleep soundly at night.

Always make sure, also, that the heating pad is turned off whenever the animal is in the bed to save both electricity, and any small chance of electrical failure and fire.
