In fact, this is a tactic that most internet marketing professionals use in order to get your email. It's call opting in, when you fill out a little box with your name and email, and in return the networking professional promises to send you on to the next page where he or she will show you how to make money. Unfortunately, when you get to the next page, you are not any closer to making money because the free information is nothing more than a sales pitch.

Now, before we go any further, I think it's important to state that there is nothing wrong with a sales pitch. It's just that too many gurus and so called "experts" are promising to show you exactly how they made their "millions of dollars", but they fail to present the total picture. Many times they will tell you that it took them only 6 weeks to earn $10,000, but they will leave off the part of their 5 year struggle and $30,000 investment in tools and training over those years. So when reading some of these outrageous claims, be forewarned that there may be more to the story.

Making money on the internet is possible, and in fact, some people make huge amounts of money in online marketing. But for the most part, whatever opportunity you may get involved with, plan on spending some money to join or to buy a product, and plan on spending even more money for services such as website hosting, domains, auto-responders, etc.....and don't forget training and mentoring. You may have to spend money up front just to have someone teach you some shortcuts in internet marketing.

If you are asking yourself the question "how to make money with internet marketing" then you probably have a long road ahead of you. But don't feel bad because establishing a profitable business on the internet is not as easy as those gurus make it seem, and even earning money as an affiliate still requires a solid effort as well as a financial investment. It is always wise to do your homework on any company, ask for references, and proceed with caution. Any legitimate company will be able to back up its claims and should have many successful students or entrepreneurs that can confirm your trust in the company.
