How To Make That Sporting Event Or Concert Just A Little Bit Different

There's a first time for everything - and going to our first live concert or sporting event is no different

. It is a big event in our lives, and if we are doing it for the first time some good advice will come in handy.

Whether it is a sporting event or concert, if you are the one doing the planning, and it is going to be a surprise, make sure you take some obvious points into consideration. If they are obvious, why do they pointing out? Well, it's surprising how often the obvious things to do somehow miss being thought about - until it's too late.

Obvious Point Number One: Don't forget to buy the tickets...as soon as you can. It's no good leaving it to the last moment. You have the plan all ready, you are pleased with yourself for having come up with the plan - but imagine that smile being wiped clean off your face when you leave the buying of the tickets until the last moment (because you thought no one else would be going to the concert), and find out that not only is the event sold out, but even if you had booked a week sooner, you would still have only been given the option of Row Z, Upper Tier. The advice is - book NOW. Don't leave it to the last minute.

But before you start reaching for the phone, or logging online, just pause for a second and give some thought to WHERE you think the best place is for your loved one to be seated at the concert or ball game. Take into consideration their personal characteristics. Maybe they are a little shortsighted, or hard of hearing. If so, purchase the seats in an appropriate part of the stadium, or auditorium. Think of these questions before hand, and you can ask for assistance when making the bookings. The last thing you want for this "surprise" is if it turns into a turkey and not champagne.

There are other things to take into account after that, and no less important. Maybe binoculars might be a good idea to aid the viewing experience, and perhaps some regard to the weather should be noted (particularly if the event is going to be outside). Food too must be considered. At most concerts and sporting events there is pre-game entertainment, or support bands before the main event, which means the whole experience can sometimes last 4 or 5 hours. A small bag with refreshments would be welcome for the people going.

But another possibility (if you are really looking to spoil your loved one) is to think about hiring a car, or even limousine. The chances are your loved one will be going with a friend or two, so if you were thinking of really splashing out, a chauffeur-driven limo could make their day even more spectacular...and safe...especially if it was likely alcohol might be consumed. The advantages of hiring a limo are the savings that could be made as far as food and drink is concerned, as these usually come as standard.

But before you get carried away - get the basics right. You've had the brainwave - now don't let your brain waver!
