Using a friendly tone of voice:
"Hi Carol. It's Dave. I appreciate what you did for me and I want to thank you in person. Call me?"
Did you catch how that used both curiosity and self interest?
Carol WON'T be able to resist! "He thinks I did something good?" "He appreciates something I did?" she will be thinking. And she feels good because it's a positive message.
Now before you call you need to do the "Set Up"...which is figuring out what she did that you appreciate. It can be just about anything...but needs to be believable. But more importantly...
BE WARNED!
Make sure you have an underlying strategy like it is laid out in the Magic Of Making
Up System BEFORE you call.
If you apply this idea without an underlying strategy and they do call you back you can do more BAD than good if you don't handle it properly. Okay?
This is just one of the steps to get your ex back. What you do before, during and after you get them to return your call is as important or even more so than getting them to return your call in the first place.
