How To Manage The Time You Have To Work On Your Internet Business
If you already have an internet business, you probably have a regular job as well
. If you have a family and other committments, it can sometimes be very hard to fit everything in. When you first start your online business, your time management may well be an issue initially. Many people unwind by watching their favourite TV programmes at the end of a day's work. You should spend some of this time on your business. Having an online business means making sacrifices and if you cannot give up some TV what chance do you have of making other sacrifices?
Don't despair if you can't commit to all of my suggestions. Just commit to one of them, then build up gradually. However, remember the more time you spend on your business the more quickly it will grow.
Get up at least an hour earlier each morning five times a week and work on your business before you go to work.
Take some reading to work to have a look at during your lunch break.
Give up some TV and spend at least one hour each evening on your online business.
Listen to training CD's whilst driving. Spend about two hours on a Saturday and Sunday.
When you first start your internet business, you need to build the foundations. Initially you have to be patient, work hard and consistently before you see any results. It is during this time that your determination to make your business work will be tested and you will discover if you are prepared to sacrifice some of your leisure time.You cannot afford to resent this period. If you do your business will not succeed. Sometimes you would rather do something else and of course we all need and deserve leisure time.
Of course time with your family has to take priority but you mustn't treat your business like a hobby. That means fitting your leisure time around the time you have committed to it, much in the same way as you do your regular job. I have experienced how difficult it can be to stay focused and not stray or get distracted IN THE EARLY DAYS. Eventually you do get used to it. I now really look forward to working on my business.
One last tip would be to avoid your email inbox and only check your emails after you have completed your tasks. If you find it takes up a lot of time to get through them all, you have probably subscribed to countless newsletters and free reports. Do yourself a favour and spend some time unsubscribing. You know you don't need them all and it will also help to control your information overload.
