How To Obtain A Us Green Card
One of the most long existing political issues in the American history has been immigration which is sought by many to gain residency in U.S
. This has generated a huge bulk of applications and legal work concerning visas and green cards that are meant to monitor and control the number of people who want to immigrate to U.S. It is one of the most desired and perhaps the most difficult application process to complete and get through successfully.
Obtaining a green card is not easy as it provides permanent residency in America and a strict evaluation system is placed in order to make sure that no mistakes are made. It is advised that aspirants find a lawyer as obtaining U.S. green card without legal help from a legal services provider is not easy and may take too long.
There are basically three ways of obtaining a green card and they are:
Getting sponsored by an employer: This might be the most difficult method of obtaining a green card as first you have to find an employer for whom you are important enough that he would go through all the paperwork to keep you there permanently. Even if you find an employer who is willing to go to these lengths, you still have to go through a very lengthy legal process that may take up to 2 years.
Play and win the diversity lottery: You might not believe this but the U.S. government actually offers green cards through a lottery system also. Participating in it is not so difficult but winning the lottery is a total different story. Every year a certain number of green cards are allocated to those foreign applicants who are eligible and whose names are drawn in the lottery. You need to have a degree equivalent to a high school degree and must be employed or had been recently employed in a post which requires you to take a few years of training. Usually, 50,000 spots are filled through lotteries for which there are millions of applicants. The chances of actually winning are slim.
The third option is similar to the first one (at least in theory) with the only difference that you are sponsored by a relative rather than by an employer. However, only naturalized U.S. citizens can sponsor relatives other than spouses and children. The best choice that you have is to either marry a U.S citizen or someone having a green card. Actually, this is the quickest and most simple method of receiving a green card as the applications of sponsored children and spouses are automatically placed in front of the line.
However, you must take legal help before you move forward with filling any application in this respect as a wrongly filled form will only delay the process and reduce your chances of getting the green card. Find a lawyer having expertise in immigration cases and practices in your area or your sponsors area. Legal services and immigration lawyers can make the whole process much easier and smoother for you as they have the required knowledge and experience of dealing with the process.
