How To Pack Properly For A Safari

A safari is very different from your normal everyday life

. However, some people might not understand that fact and hence tend to bring their suits and high heels to a safari. It is only when they are thousands of miles away from home that they realize that they made a mistake and they should have packed different items. While you may not necessarily decide to carry your suit or your high heels to a safari in the wild, there are some things that you might carry that are virtually useless in the wild and there are also high chances of you forgetting to carry important items. The art of packing is not something that can be learnt easily but fortunately, for you, it is very easy to learn from the experiences of others who have gone through a safari.

Start with the essential items first

This is absolutely the most important thing that you can ever do if you are planning to take a safari in the wild. You should start packing the most essential items such as a first aid kit and a satellite phone so that you can communicate with the rest of the world if anything goes wrong. You should also remember to carry a map of the place that you will be touring through and not a map of the place you are coming from. It may sound weird but there are people who have been known to carry the wrong maps. Clothes dont feature much here seeing that when you are just carrying the bare essentials all you really need are the clothes on your person.

Binoculars and mosquito repellents are great items that can also be shortlisted to fit into the essential items category. You might not have an idea of how mosquitoes can ruin your safari until they actually do. Binoculars are good, as they will help you spot danger or help or a source of water from far away. They are very important and they will help you along the way. Unless you have a natural sense of direction, (unfortunately, human beings do not) then you will definitely need a compass with you. The compass will be your guide through the rough terrain of the forest.

It is also important to remember to bring along good clean water on your safari. The water that will be in the area you will be travelling through might not be the best water for you to drink, especially if your body has been used to chemically treated water that is safe for human consumption. As such, to avoid any complications that may occur along the way, carrying your own water is a very wise thing.

There are also other items that you will need to carry with you during your safari. Just because you will be travelling through rough terrain with almost no form of human settlement this does not mean that you should not carry your money with you. You have to remember that after your safari you will still need to get from point A to point B.
