Having a large venue is important if you're hosting a large party with more than

a hundred guests and it's not a bad idea to hire a professional to help you with planning, food catering, decorations, etc.

You can have other possibilities besides hotels, restaurants, and resorts. You can consider universities, museums, or even art galleries as possibilities. You need to be better prepared and work more to make sure everything is in order if you choose a non-traditional venue. Venues that don't usually host such events are less like to have all the necessities as a restaurant or hotel.

Regardless of which venue you chose, making sure it can accommodate the magnitude of the event and the number of guests is important. It doesn't matter if you fell in love with the venue because you can't use it if it's too small for the event. If the venue is perfect but the hours wouldn't work with your party, then you still can't use the venue. Consulting an event planning professional would be a good idea to try and find the right venue for your event.

There are venues who would tell you they're capable of running an event like yours smoothly because they also host similar events. You don't have to worry about hands on stuff because it's likely these venues have professionals taking care of the details. Experienced venues will utilize banquet setup personnel for the setup of the tables and dance floor. Offered by the venue management are things like logistics, entertainment, and catering.

If you feel that the venue management lack creativity speak up. Being the customer, influencing the planning of your event is your right. Be sure to get everything in writing. You can't assume anything. Make sure the contract includes what is and is not included at the venue.

It's also important to make sure there is enough parking for your guests. If someone you have invited needs special attention such as handicap access, make sure it is available.
