For instance, the SSID for Linksys devices is normally "linksys." So, it is better to change the default SSID immediately at the time of configuring wireless security. In Wi-Fi networking, the wireless device typically broadcasts the network name (SSID) over the air on a regular basis. For the home networks it is recommended to disable the SSID broadcast feature for better protection.
