How To Put Together A Fun Outdoor Halloween Party

Halloween has got to be one of the most anticipated seasons of the year

. Zombies and ghouls walking along the streets, children trick-or-treating, and fancy jack-o-lantern displays from every home; what could be more fun? Whether your plan on having a Halloween scavenger hunt or a pumpkin carving contest, outdoor Halloween activities are a great way to celebrate the night of ghouls and goblins.

If you are having one for the first time, planning a Halloween party need not be stressful. Plan your party at least a few weeks in advance to help you prepare. List down the games you would like to have and the materials needed for each game. Plan a ghoulish menu filled with scary-looking h'ordeuvres and treats, and plan how many you are going to invite as well. Take note of important items you need to purchase and gather the items you need a week before the party.

Classic activities you could include in your party are a pumpkin carving and painting contest and a fun Halloween scavenger hunt for kids and teens. Also include newer games that are sure to be enjoyed by everyone, like pumpkin hunting contests and eye ball relays. Be sure to set your party up early on the day itself. You wouldnt want to start preparing by sunset, as you would lose sunlight and wouldnt be able to assess where to properly set up game areas and eating areas. Lay out tables, chairs, and stack up the materials needed for the activities. Bet busy preparing frozen treats so theyll nice and cool when the guests arrive. And test out any smoke machines or artificial dcor youll be using for the night. Also consider installing some outdoor lights to illuminate the area where you would be setting your party.

It pays to be prepared, so have list of alternative indoor activities ready just in case it starts to rain on your party. Youll never know what kind of weather you may have on the day of your event, so instead calling the whole event off have a back-up plan ready. Having outdoor games that can be easily modified into indoor activities are great for sudden weather changes.

When inviting your guests be sure to inform them of the type of activities you will have so they can prepare accordingly. And if youd having a themed scavenger hunt or relay, have guests dress up in costumes to make the event more fun. Have candies at the door for kids who will trick-or-treat as well.
