Agnitheertham is a temple where one can clean away all the sins by mere bathing in the lake nearby. There are 22 wells nearby and the waters of these 22 wells have different tastes. The water of these wells has medicinal properties and it is believed that diseases can be cured by tasting the water from the wells. Dhanushkodi temple, washed away by cyclone, is very beautiful. This place is surrounded by the Bay of Bengal on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other side.

Fondly called the Lands End, Kanyakumari is situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. The literal meaning of the word Kanyakumari is the virgin girl, is believed to be one of the incarnations of Goddess Parvathi. The Kanyakumari temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvathi. Kanyakumari is a famous tourist destination not only for spiritualitybut just for casual enjoyment also.

The town of Kanyakumari, nicknamed Cape Comorin, is situated on the seashore and Kanyakumari is the meeting point of the three main oceans namely Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal. As this town is surrounded by these three oceans one can get a better view of sunrise and sunset. Even moon rise and sunset can be viewed at the same time on some particular days.

The city of Rameshwaram does not have any airport. It can be accessed by bus and trains from Kanyakumari. There are several trains pass through Rameshwaram from Kanyakumari. Express and superfast trains run between the two cities.

Regular government bus services are available from Kanyakumari to Rameshwaram and they take around 6-7 hours to reach Rameshwaram.

Taxis charge Rs. 7000/- to reach Rameshwaram from Kanyakumari. This cab is for four people. For seven people it costs Rs. 9000/- per trip.
