How To Read A Kindle Book On A Mac Or Pc

Having just gone through the process of publishing my first Kindle Book ( The Online

Treasure Map for Motivational Speakers: 21 Industry Insider Tips to get you Booked as a Speaker Faster ), I was often asked how to read a Kindle Book on a MAC or a PC.

It was a brand new world for me, when I published this book and it opened my eyes to a whole new culture of Authors, Publishers and marketing strategies on a different platform. I will explore the marketing side of things in a future blog post, but what was fascinating was, as big as Amazon is or appears to be, there are still a horde of people who do not use it for its online services such as kindle. I too was one of these.

My thoughts, as were many others, were that if you saw a great book on Amazon that you wanted to read, and it was only available through Kindle, and you did not posess such a device, then you missed out.

What I didnt know was that you can read kindle books on any device, whether its a Mac or a PC, an android or and Iphone or Ipad. This all of a sudden opeend up my world to a whole new range of information and marketing strategies too.

Firstly, there are a lot of great kindle books out there that are full of valuabke information for you to consume. These Kindle books are mostly under the $10 price point and often are free at certain times.

Secondly, it opens up your market to everybody, not just people who own kindle devices, if you are an author.

How to read a Kindle book on a mac or pc -

The proces is very simple. If you have one of:

- Android phone

- Android tablet

- iPad

- iPhone

- Mac

- Windows 7, XP or Vista

- Windows 8 PC

- Windows 8 tablet

- BlackBerry

- Windows Phone

then you can download a free app that lets you read your kindle book on that device. Click on the relevant link in the list above to take you to downlaod that app.

One of the very cool things that I discovered is that Amazon has a technology that is called WhisperSync Technology and it lets you read your kindle book on a number of devices simultaneaosly. So I can sync all my books with my various devices.

Lets say that I am at home and I download a book on my Mac and begin to read it. I get to chapter 3 and then stop reading. The next day I am on a train and want to continue reading my book, but I dont have my compuetr with me, but I do have my Iphone. Whsipersync technolgy will sync my computer to my iphone and let my iphone know exactly where I was up to in the book. It will sync notes and highlights in a book that you make as well.

This sort of technology is brilliant and bound to make life alot easier when juggling multiple devices.
