How To Recognize Female Hair Loss
Female hair loss is observed in several patterns
. If you are a female and you think you are affected by women pattern baldness, you must consult with a qualified hair restoration specialist. Most cases of hair loss in women can be treated effectively. However, most women who are starting to loss scalp hair are surprised by the condition and do not know why they are losing hair.
Female hair loss is not recognized as easily as in men. Unlike male hair loss, women pattern baldness usually occur at the age of around 50 years old and above and may not have a clear association with heredity. Usually, a woman who first begins to notice hair loss is unsure if the condition is permanent or temporary, especially if there is an event recently, such as illness or pregnancy that is associated with temporary hair loss.
How Hair Grows
The best way to picture hair growth is to think about a garden. The health of your hair depends entirely on the events that are happening underground. As with a garden, the normal cycle of hair should result to a product, which is hair. Hair growth cycle is very important since if it goes askew, it becomes one of the main reasons why hair loss occurs. In addition, things that interfere with the hair growth cycle such as illness, medication, chemicals or infection can potentially prevent hair from forming properly.
Determining Female Hair Loss
The American Academy of Dermatology stated that majority of people lose from 50 to 100 hair strands every day. When you wash your hair, you can lose as many as 250 hair strands. However, do not avoid your hair to prevent female hair loss as it will eventually fall out anyway.
If you do not intend to count your hair every day, there are means of knowing when your hair is starting to thin out or being lost at faster rate. You can easily observe the difference. When you wake up in the morning, you may see an unusually large amount of hair in your pillow. When you are combing your hair, you will see more than the normal amount of hair in the comb, especially if you are not tugging, which could pull hair out.
You will also notice other visual cues over time. In men, the hair tends to thin out from the crown of the head or forehead. In women though, thinning tends to occur on the top one third or one half of scalp. In some instances, the frontal line remains intact but you may see more of your scalp when you pull your hair back.
