These bubbles should not cause your whirlpool bath any damage but what it will do it make a mess of your bathroom and take time to clean up. It could also cause damage to your bathroom if you failed to clean it up properly.
You should also avoid using bath oils and/or too much soap. This can also be damaging but can in fact be damaging to your bath. Using these kinds of products can cause a build up in your pipe work. Products in which are oily contain a thing called lanolin. Anything that contains this should not be used as they will leave a film in the pipes which in time will attract dirt and grime which will stick to it. Some of the things that you should check as often contain lanolin are bath oils, various hair conditioners, emollient skin treatments and soaps. Making sure you check what's in your products and lotions can be the difference between perfectly good pipes and clogged up pipes.

Dead Sea bath salts are ideal to use in whirlpool baths as they neither form up or contain any oils. They can also help to soften the water and make is so much more relaxing. They are also good for people with dry skin conditions; they work as a natural exfoliation thereby remarkably improving skin texture. Low foam bath essences are also great as they are completely oil free and they contain a foam controller. These enable you to bath with the absolute best consistency of both fragrance and bubbles. Aromatherapy Bath fragrances in small doses are also good for this style of bath tub, these type of fragrances may be suitable but beware of those that require a carrier oil.
To ensure that your pipes don't get clogged up you should also clean your tub regularly. Your whirlpool bath will need purging about once a month, maybe more if you use a lot of oils on lotions on your body and the whirlpool system is known to accumulate residue. To do this you should fill the bath with hot water and add around five table spoons of low suds detergent approximately twenty-five ounces of house hold bleach. Run the whirlpool for ten minutes, drain and fill back up with cold water. Lastly run the bath with whirlpool for a further ten minutes with the cold water and then drain.
