If this will be the first time seeking a job online you will happen upon many jobs that turn out to be scams. By doing an internet search you will find several companies that hire work from home independent contractors. Very rarely can you become an employee when working at home. Also unlike working in the corporate world most of the time there are no medical benefits or other perks.

Once you have a list of your best skills at that point you may apply to those jobs which your skills will be appreciated. Any company that offers you employment will start you may part or full time schedule, of course that is your choice. When choosing to work at home that means that you have a commitment to that company and that you are there when scheduled.

It is most important that when you are offered a position working for a company to research the company. Make sure they are a real company and that they will pay you each time. Ask many questions before accepting the work offer.

I suggest that you research several companies that you want to apply to. Go to the company websites and find out how much they pay per hour, or if they pay a commission only. Just like brick and mortar employers you are expected to be working when you are scheduled to, and always be professional no matter what situation there will be customers who are never happy so just do the best you can and put a smile on your face.

As you start looking for home employment please remember to watch out for those nasty scams. After you discover the companies you would like to work for go and apply with those companies. Keep in mind that you can always learn new skills because the more skills you have the faster you will have a job.
