How To Select A Pair Of Quality Steel Toe Boots

Many companies around the world send out Press Releases and articles as to why their shoes are so much more perfect than anyone else's

. But, can you really believe these people? I mean, they are talking about their own brands, their own shoes and their own companies. I don't know about you, but honestly I would like a TRUE review of how to pick the best pair of steel toe boots from someone like me, rather than a huge company looking to tell you what you WANT to hear! There are five main facets you want to look for when choosing shoes.

First off you have to consider the fabric. I know it seems a little obvious, but it's something people oftentimes overlook. Fabrics in general can make a boot be or not be of quality. The materials you should be choosing from are suede, leather, and gore-tex which is a type of rubber, but much stronger than regular rubber! These shoes should be broke in after a few wears, but not to the point where they "break" out. The shoe should also be fit for the type of situation or atmosphere you are in. For example, leather will not incinerate and ignite or melt.

If they are burnt or scuffed they can be easily polished up and masked away. Thick leather is ideal and looks nice. Second off, you want to consider the durability. Some shoes might look nice and can take a beating, but after a few calendar months the stitches come apart, the metal wears through the padding and digs into your foot, there are many things which can occur if the shoe is not engineered just right. Does the shoe have a steel shank? Is the steel toe area padded well and with lasting material? Will the shoe backing hold? And the sole, how long will that last?

These are the questions you want to ask yourself. Next in line is the actual sole of the steel toe boot. Ultimately this should be a sub category of durability, but honestly it deserves its own darn category altogether! There are two types of soles. Those that last. Those that don't. If you invest a little more than you want to, the sole on the shoe will oftentimes be made thicker, out of better materials. It will last longer than if you bought a really cheap boot that had less than desirable materials and wasn't made as well.

Next is flexibility! Does the product bend or does it stiffen to the touch? If you can't bend the shoe with your hand, chances are it might be TOO dense. By too dense, I mean that it won't conform to your foot. You actually DO want them to break in a little bit so that they will be comfortable. Next is features. Every boot is going to have its own features! They might be for electrical hazards, insulated, waterproof, for specific "jobs" like welders, loggers, warehouse workers, etc.
