They may be more expensive than individuals that are new to the field but they are worth every penny because inexperienced agents may fail to help you sell your property for an extended period of time through an inability to turn a potential buyer around and really sell to them. Similarly, experienced agents will not try to charge you unrealistic commissions either. Speak to several agents and check out their credentials before settling on one.

Another factor that will help you to sell is avoiding the pitfall of bad marketing. Marketing will help to attract attention and thus will also draw people to your property. Ensuring that you have good photos, using effective marketing strategies such as staging and placement on websites are just a few techniques that are often met with success. If you do not do these, or at least if your agent does not, then you are falling right into the trap and may find that it takes much longer to sell.

The final pitfall is to fail to make the property presentable. It does not have to be an immaculate show home but it should appear to be homely and appealing to the average buyer. If you pay attention to all of these pitfalls and avoid them as far as possible then you will find the process to sell your property much less stressful and drawn out than would otherwise be the case.
