You may cut the upholstery fabric into a piece measuring of about 9 inches in width and 10 inches lengthwise. Now you may fold 1/4 inch at the edges and iron it so that it stays in place. Again fold the edges a 1/4 inch and sew it. You may cut the fabric again in 8 inches lengthwise and 5 inches widthwise. The edges of this fabric piece is to be folded 1/4 inch in the same manner as above and one of the edge of the 8 inch side is to be placed along with the edge of the 9 inch side of the prior cut fabric. The second fabric piece is to be placed along with the wrong side of the first cut piece of fabric and then the three edges of the second small fabric piece can be sewn. You may see that now a pocket is created.

The preliminary stage is over. Would you like to make a clutch wallet purse with more pockets or increase the size? You may do it by just repeating the above process. According to your desire you would be able to change the location or shape and size of the pockets created. The metal clasps may be sewed to the middle section of each of the edges of the 9 inch side. You may make sure that they are sewed on to the inner side and by folding it half you may close the clasp.
