When I first wanted to learn how to start blogging

, I did a lot of research on blogs and the technicalities of how to set up a blog. Always, I saw the advantages of blogging. If you use it right, it can make you a good sum of money or you can use it as a SEO tool. I was primarily interested in the role that blogs play in SEO. What I gathered was that blog posts advantage a website in the same way that an SEO article in an article directory does. A blog just provides another medium for SEO work. I thought that was pretty cool and so, I wanted to know how to set up the best kind of blog.

There are two different ways you can approach the creation of a blog. The first way is by making it private. In this case, Blogger or Wordpress.com provide the tools you need to set up your own blog. They provide the themes and buttons and comment forums. All you have to do is write. However, private blogs are just that, private. They are for personal use only and do not count toward SEO because no one but you will visit it.

On the other hand, public blogs can provide you with added advantages. They are open to whoever is interested. At first, you may need to invite people to read your blog. The more people you invite, the more likely it is that they will invite others and so on. Of course, that is still dependent on how good your blog is. There are other aspects that you need to keep in mind.

After you decide to make your blog public, you can still use blogger or Wordpress.com, but remember that if you one day need your own web space, it will be hard to move your blog to your own domain name. So, you may want to buy your own domain name and create your own blog. Wordpress.org has good tools for those who do not know how to program. With a public blog, you can then sell space around your blog for money, or you can focus on directing attention to your website.
