When submitting to a directory, make sure it is placed under the most relevant category. You should avoid submitting through the top category. Many websites has locked the submission form that is accessed through the homepage. Instead, you should navigate to the most relevant subcategory. If you want to submit to a higher category, check to see if there is any link displayed on the category. If there are links on the top category, you can submit your link there as well. However, it is best to submit to the lowest category level to increase the approval rate. Links that are placed in the most relevant category is more valuable to the search engines.
