They can be washed with mild detergent soap and warm water. They have to be rinsed and dried immediately. They can be soaked with coconut oil or jojoba at least once a month. They should be removed before bathing, swimming or before going to bed. Strings or beads can easily break or snap so care has to be taken when removing them. They should be hung when not in used, wrapped individually in a piece of cloth and kept separately from other jewelries.
